The rules, regulations, directives

Standards

Switchgear answer to the requirements of the applicable rules and regulations and technical documents in the current edition as at the time of the model (standard) tests.

Requirements for electrical facilities to install switchgear

Switchgears are designed for use as domestic accommodation facilities according to IEC 61 936 (Power Installations exceeding AC 1 kV) and VDE 0101.

  • Operating outside lockable electrical equipment - may be applied in inaccessible to unauthorized persons places. Metal outer shell of switchgear equipment is not open and not be removed without special tools.
  • When operating in closed (locked with a key), electrical rooms: Closed (lockable) Electrical room - this room or outdoor area, which are intended exclusively for the operation of electrical installations and are being constipated, access in that are qualified electricians and persons passed electro-technical instruction. Unauthorized persons have access to these areas only when accompanied by qualified staff or persons who have received special instruction.

Insulation properties

  • Insulation properties are confirmed by testing switchgear application to the subject an object of the normalized test voltage power frequency and lightning impulse voltage test in accordance with the instructions of EC 60 694/VDE 0670-1000 (see table "Insulation Properties").
  • The normalized values are given to the height of sea level NN (normal zero) and to normal atmospheric conditions (1013 hPa, 20 C, humidity of 11 g / cubic meter for IES60 071 and VDE0111).
  • With increasing height placement insulating properties are reduced. For vertical placement above 1000 m (above sea level) rules do not provide guidance on the insulating properties. The corresponding rates are regulated by special regulations.

With increasing altitude above sea level, placing insulating properties of insulation in air decreases due to dilution air density.

For switchgear, designed for installation at altitudes above 1000 m above sea level, must consider the reduction of insulation properties (see also I EC 60 694/VDE 0670-1000).
